Jonathan Tan – Inspiration Story

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my great privilege and honour to be here this evening. I have been playing Table Tennis almost 15 years. So here is the story of my pathway. When I was 9 half years old, I was seeing  my friends playing with rackets, balls, hit with other in the park, then realise  something strange and unique game. So I ask my friend what kind of game are you playing is Table Tennis, so I quickly learn how to play it and even the fact can’t afford going to coaching class. Then I saw someone who can really coach me how to play Table Tennis which I meet Tony Lee. So I do a private coaching with him just a free training. So I progress well in the class. Coach Tony Lee asks me to join Table Tennis Competition at my local area and other area.
At the age of 10 The Table Tennis NSW send me a letter that I am qualify for NSW Junior Top 10. I was Top 9 Junior Table Tennis NSW for Under 12 years old, representative for my own state since was 2004. Then later I made huge progress playing for Team Pennants for St George Sutherland Team Summer Pennants since 2006 the time I play against Veteran player Gillian Hutchinson’s team. After 2006 I have stopped playing Team Pennant because due to my school studies. So my first year back was playing 2015 teamed up at D Grade Winter Season my father and I team challenge together in the team, the opponent for Grand Final between another Father and Son Team were Roger and Thomas Fenech. It was our first interesting epic game Father and Son Team Challenge playing in the tournament it was 5-0 my father and I have win the victory. So I continued make my pathway playing Pennants forever, At the 2017 I remember play with Mr Ajan Khanna in C Grade Quarter Final Singles in the Closed Championship by beating him 3-0 and this year 2019 he have beat me 3-1 at B Grade Closed Championship.
Since when I was 2015 undertaken playing for Paralympics Table Tennis Team with NSW,. Currently I am rank 1 in Table Tennis NSW Para Class 11 Intellectual Impairment and now am currently rank 3 playing Australia Para Team, this year October I just return back from Brisbane playing my first year International National Athlete Sport representative for Table Tennis Australia Team and still under currently Volunteer Young Liberal Politics Party.
Before I end my speeches just like to thank for some Universities players and young children coming down all the way playing Pennants there is good experience for them to have a go.
Also I have my own facebook page (which is Jonathan Tan) and want everyone please hit the like page to help my pathway of Table Tennis. (If you not too sure please come and see after the presentation night)

Thank you have a great weeks.
